The Waterfall

The Waterfall in Santa Rosa de Calamuchita and Nature Reserve.

This hiking route is very popular amongst hikers. There are two different marked routes and takes +- 50 minutes. There is not always a lot of water in the waterfall but the hiking route is worthwhile. Nature is incredible. Take a little picnic basket with you and enjoy the time at the waterfall. You can also rent bicycles from Hostel Tinktinkie and cycle to the waterfall. On your way back stop at the restaurant and drink an ice cold beer. Big glass windows offer an incredible view of the valley.

It is possible to hike without a guide and the level of difficulty is medium. It is a scenic hike that criss-crosses over the Loyola stream, where you are able to see plants and trees. The waterfall is 6 metres high and cascades into a pool of crystal clear water.

The waterfall does have hours from 10:00 until 18:00 and the cost is $50 pesos per person.
